This came as Senator Omisore said seven Senior Advocates of Nigeria, SANs would represent him at the Tribunal, where he is challenging the declaration of the All Progressives Congress, APC, candidate, Mr. Rauf Aregbesola, the winner.
Omisore, who was accompanied by the state chairman of the PDP, Alhaji Ganiyu Olaoluwa and other chieftains of the party at the filing, boasted that he would reclaim his alleged mandate through the tribunal.
The senator spoke with newsmen after submitting the over 2,000 pages petition.
Omisore, according to the petition, is seeking an order of the tribunal to cancel the results of the August 9 governorship election in 17 Local Government Areas of the state.
The local government areas include, Ifelodun, Olorunda, Osogbo, Ejigbo, Ede South, Ede North, Ilesa West, Ilesa East, and Ila, among others.
He also called for fresh conduct of the governorship election in the affected 17 councils.
Besides, Omisore sought the order of the tribunal to declare him the authentic winner of the overnorship poll.
He claimed “the last governorship election was marred by rigging perpetrated by the APC through the Osun Youths Empowerment Scheme, OYES, cadets.”
The tribunal’s Secretary, Muhammadu Aliyu, who received the petition on behalf of the tribunal chairman, assured that the tribunal would carry out its duty without fear or favour.
