Following Federal Governing postponement of primary and secondary schools resumption date nationwide due to the dreaded Ebola Virus Disease, EVD, the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, has modified the 2014 Batch B orientation camp beginning Monday, September 1.
In a released posted on NYSC’s website, explained that the orientation course for Stream II was suspended due to the federal government’s pronouncement that all schools currently on vacation should remain closed to avert the spread of the EVD.
It reads, “In consideration of the presidential pronouncement that all schools should not reopen at this time of national health emergency, the abridged version of the 2014 Batch ‘B’ orientation course is scheduled to commence from 1st to 8th September, 2014.
“Prospective Corps members are to equally note that the registration process will not take more than one hour. Thereafter, they are to collect their kits and proceed immediately to their states of deployment or relocation as the case may be for the completion of the remaining formalities.”
Meanwhile, Governor Babatunde Fashola, while addressing the 2014 Batch B stream one corps members in Lagos said, ‘’Government is not resting on its oars to combat the Ebola Virus.’’
