How to Protect Your iOS 8 Jailbreak

The iOS 8 jailbreak has been out for about a month now, but even if you already jailbroke your iPhone or iPad, there is still a reason for you to protect that jailbreak and make sure that you don’t lose it.

Thanks to the most recent iOS 8.1.1 update from Apple, Pangu’s iOS 8 jailbreak doesn’t work with this version, and since Apple tries its best to get users to update to the latest versions of iOS, doing so with your jailbroken device will lead to losing the jailbreak.

Obviously, that can’t happen, and while we’re sure that iOS 8.1.1 will be jailbroken eventually at some point, it’s not really worth it to update to iOS 8.1.1 from iOS 8.1 if it means losing your jailbreak, especially since this latest update is extremely minor for those with newer iOS devices.

iOS 8.1.1 mainly just fixes a handful of bugs and improves performance for the older iPhone 4s and the iPad 2, which are the two oldest devices that support iOS 8. Needless to say, this update was crucial for these two devices, seeing as how they both suffered performance wise going from iOS 7 to iOS 8.
iPhone-6-pair
For those with newer iPhones or iPads, the iOS 8.1.1 update isn’t as crucial, although there’s no harm in updating to it anyway if you’re not jailbroken and don’t plan on being anytime soon.
However, if you are jailbroken or plan to jailbreak your device soon, here’s how to protect your iPhone or iPad from updating to iOS 8.1.1.
Say No to iTunes
If you’re already jaibroken, the iOS 8 jailbreak is set up in such a way that it prevents your device from checking for a newer iOS update. Normally, you can go to Settings > General > Software Update and download the latest version over-the-air, but the Pangu iOS 8 jailbreak prevents users from doing that on their jailbroken devices, so you’re safe there.
However, if you ever go to plug in your iPhone or iPad into your computer and fire up iTunes, you’ll most likely get a pop-up telling you that there’s a newer version of iOS and that you should install it.
Screen Shot 2014-11-24 at 10.19.10 AM
This is where you use those skills that you learned when you were younger when your parents would teach you to say “no” to drugs and other bad stuff, only this time it’s applied to iTunes.
One click of the “Yes” and your iPhone or iPad will be updated to iOS 8.1.1 and you’ll lose your jailbreak, so this is the most important factor as far as protecting your iOS 8 jailbreak on your iPhone or iPad.

Don’t Take Risks

Since you can’t essentially wipe your iPhone or iPad and restore back to the iOS version that you were on, Apple forces you to update to the latest version of iOS whenever you want to restore. This may not seem like a huge deal, but one wrong move could put your iOS device in a bootloop or otherwise soft-brick it, forcing you to restore in order to get it back in working order. Thus, you’ll be forced to update to iOS 8.1.1 and lose your jailbreak.
iOS-8-Cydia-tweaks
This is why it’s important to not take risks with certain things on your iPhone or iPad. Don’t open up iFile and start messing around with the system files, as that’s a good way to mess something up on your device.

A great jailbreak app to install is called iLEX RAT. If your jailbroken iPhone or iPad is in trouble, you can use this app to restore your iPhone to a fresh state while still keeping the jailbreak intact. Semi-Restore is another jailbreak tweak that does this as well.

You may be asking, “Why not just go intoSettings and select Erase All Content and Settings?” However, doing so on a jailbroken iPhone or iPad will result in a bootloop, for which you’ll have to do a hard restart to get back to the lock screen. The only way to restore your iPhone back to factory settings while keeping the jailbreak intact is to use special software like iLEX RAT or Semi-Restore.

How to Setup Your Windows 8.1 Notebook, Tablet or Desktop

Even now, the Windows 8 operating system that Microsoft sells to hardware makers to put on their notebooks, desktops and tablets is recovering. With Windows 7, Microsoft had a well-received, well-loved offering on its hands. Windows 8 wasn’t as well received and even today, even knowing that a PC comes with Windows 8.1 installed is enough for some people to run the other way. That’s a shame; Windows 8 really is the best and most advanced version of Windows there is, and the Windows 8.1 update made it even better. Even the setup process is easier with Windows 8.1 than it was in previous versions of Windows.

Huawei Ascend P7 specs and price

When you look at the design of the iPhone 6 or 6 Plus or even the HTC One M8, you begin to appreciate phones with metal body and am sure some people would you like to get a metal phone but think it is only the big names that have metal bodies. Well the Huawei Ascend G7 has a metal body also.

Display
The Huawei Ascend G7 features a 5.5 inch display, which makes it actually big but if you are a fan of big phones and consider the iPhone 6 Plus too expensive, then you should get the G7. Also with the large screen, gaming would be wonderful.

With the help of the low-temperature polycrystalline silicone, the display of the Huawei Ascend G7 can push more pixels while maintaining as low voltage as possible.

Camera
The G7 comes with a 13MP Back camera and 5MP front camera, phone manufacturers are really giving a lot of focus to the front cameras now because of Selfies. Look at the HTC desire Eye, the front camera is 13MP.

Operating System
The G7 runs Android 4.4 kitkat. Android 5.0 Lollipop is already out but I don't know yet if the upgrade is going to be on the phone Android 5.0 is already on Nexus devices.

Like the way HTC adds the HTC Sense to their devices, Huawei added the emotion U.I 3.0 update to the Huawei Ascend G7.

Memory and Processor

Huawei Ascend G7 comes with a 1.2GHz, quad-core ARM Cortex A53 processor, 2GB of RAM,16GB internal storage which is expandable via a MicroSD(up to 32GB).

The G7 might not give you all you want but it is surely better than phones in it's price bracket and I believe it is really going to sell big time

Price and Availability
The price of the Huawei Ascend G7 is expected to range from N65,000 to N90,000 when it is available in Nigeria.

Here are a few specs of the Huawei Ascend G7:

How to Downgrade to iOS 8.1 from iOS 8.1.1

iOS 8.1.1 was released earlier last week and it aims to fix a handful of bugs and improve performance on the older iPhone 4s and iPad 2. However, the update also patches up the Pangu iOS 8 jailbreak, and the update could also cause general problems with your device. If you happen to be an unlucky user, here’s how to downgrade back to iOS 8.1 from iOS 8.1.1.
Normally, you wouldn’t be able to downgrade back down to an older version of iOS, but Apple is keeping iOS 8.1 open for a longer amount of time, allowing users to downgrade if they wish.
While iOS 8.1.1 fixes some minor bugs and such, it isn’t compatible with Pangu’s iOS 8 jailbreak, so if you plan on jailbreaking your iPhone or iPad, it’s important that you stay as far away from iOS 8.1.1 as possible, and if you already jumped the gun and updated to iOS 8.1.1, not all hope is lost.
If you want to downgrade back to iOS 8.1, you’ll want to do it as soon as possible, because it’s only matter of time before Apple stops signing iOS 8.1. Afterward, you won’t be able to jailbreak.
However, Apple is still signing iOS 8.1 right now, so you have a little bit of time to lock in iOS 8.1 and jailbreak your iPhone or iPad if you haven’t already done so. Here’s how to downgrade to iOS 8.1 if you upgraded to iOS 8.1.1.

Downgrading to iOS 8.1

Since iOS 8.1.1 is the latest version of iOS, you can’t simply open up iTunes and update to an older version. You have to add on a couple more steps, but luckily it’s fairly easy.
iPhone-6-pair
Before you do anything, make sure to back up your iOS device because this method will wipe your iPhone or iPad clean.
First off, visit this website and download the iOS 8.1 IPSW for your specific iOS device. These files range between 1.5 GB and 2GB for iPhones and iPads, so be aware that it may take a bit of time to download them.
Once you have the file downloaded, plug your iOS device into your computer and open up iTunes. Go to your device’s summary page and hold down the Option/Alt key on your keyboard or Shift if you’re on Windows. Keep holding down the key as you click on Restore in iTunes.
Next, browse to find the IPSW file that you downloaded and open it. iTunes will begin restoring your iPhone and will install iOS 8.1.
iPhone-6
After the process is complete, your iOS device should now be running iOS 8.1 and you’ll now have the latest version of iOS that supports the Pangu iOS 8 jailbreak. From there, you can jailbreak your device, which again only consists of a few simple steps.
Before you jailbreak, it’s important to back up your iPhone or iPad again, that way if anything goes wrong you can easily rewind.

Jailbreaking iOS 8.1

Before you do anything else, it’s crucial that you first disable the passcode on your device by going into Settings > Touch ID & Passcode and turn off the passcode. You’ll also need to turn on Airplane Mode by swiping up from the bottom of your screen to open Control Center and tap the airplane icon.
Now comes the fun part. Head to Pangu.ioand download the jailbreaking tool.
Once it’s downloaded, open the Pangu tool and plug in your iOS device. When it’s recognized by the Pangu tool, click on Start Jailbreak and then click Already Did.
iOS-8-Cydia-tweaksSit back and wait for the jailbreak tool to do its thing. Your iPhone or iPad will eventually reboot and you should get a finished message. From there, you can close out the Pangu tool and unplug your iOS device.

Lastly, open up Cydia and let it prepare the file system. After that, you can download and install tweaks and go crazy!

How to Edit Photos in iOS 8

Both the iPhone and iPad are turning into excellent point-and-shoot camera killers, and Apple has kept improving the camera modules in its iOS devices with every new model, but what do you do with all of those photos that you took on your iPhone or iPad? You’ll probably transfer them to your computer in order to edit them in your photo editor of choice, but what you may not know is that the Photos app in iOS 8 can do some basic photo editing of its own.
Unfortunately, Apple killed off its iPhoto iOS app when it released iOS 8, and while it essentially provided users with even more options for editing their photos right from their mobile device, it seems the company ultimately decided that mobile users really don’t need that much photo-editing power on a smartphone or tablet.
However, the built-in Photos app in iOS 8 does pretty much the basics that you’d need anyway, so the loss of iPhoto on iOS isn’t too terrible.
2014-11-21 09.57.06
And with the ability to edit photos right on your iPhone or iPad, the path from taking the photo to sharing it with friends and family is as frictionless as possible. We’ll show you how you can edit photos directly on your iPhone or iPad using the built-in Photos app.

Editing Photos in iOS 8

If you’re not quite happy with how a photo turned out, you can either take another, or edit the one you already took right on your iOS ,device.
To make an edit on a photo, open up the Photos app and find and open the photo that you want to edit. Next, tap Edit in the upper-right corner to make changes to the photo. The Photos app can do basic edits, such as rotating a photo, enabling “auto-enhance”, adding filters, getting rid of red eye, adjusting exposure, and cropping the photo.
2014-11-21 09.57.12
If you’re curious what auto-enhance is, it simply adjusts exposure and the color of a photo to make it look better — it’s pretty simple and just requires one tap.
Once you’re done editing a photo, tap onDone in the upper-right corner to save the changes.
With iPhoto, it was basically just the built-in Photos app on steroids. It could do the basics, like cropping, adjusting exposure, and adding filters, but it took things to a whole new level.
There was a feature called Brushes that allowed you to perform edits in specific areas of photos by “brushing” your finger over a certain area of the photo. You could also add filters to photos, but the number of filters that were available in iPhoto was multiplied by 10 compared to what’s offered in the built-in Photos app. Furthermore, you were even able to adjust how much contrast that the filter applied to the photo.
Overall, you got a lot more control with iPhoto, but since it’s long gone, the built-in Photos app is the next best streamlined option.
Anyway, after you’re done editing a photo in the Photos app, you can tap on the Share button (a box with an arrow pointing up) and share it on Facebook and Twitter, or through email or iMessage, as well as through AirDrop.

Of course, importing a photo to your computer will allow you to use Photoshop or any other desktop photo editing software, which will give you a lot more options than the built-in Photos app in iOS will offer, but if you’re in a pinch and need to make a few basic edits to a photo, doing it right on your iOS device is the easiest and quickest solution.

Galaxy Pocket Specs and price

The Galaxy Pocket 2 features 3.2 inch Display, 4.4.2 KitKat Operating System, 4GB internal storage which is expandable via the MicroSD Card slot Which is up to 32GB, a1 GHz processor, 512MB of RAM. It has a 2MP rear camera with LED flash and no front camera. It has a 1200 mAh Battery Capacity. The Galaxy Pocket 2 is a successor to the Galaxy Pocket, Neo and Plus. I once had a Galaxy Pocket and it was awesome so, am sure that the Galaxy Pocket 2 is nice and better. We can already see that in the OS and camera. The first Galaxy Pocket ran the Android OS 2.3.6 but the Galaxy Pocket 2 runs the 4.4.2 KitKat Android OS and also the first Galaxy Pocket had no LED Flash but this one has.

Price & Availability
Samsung Galaxy Pocket 2 is not yet available in Nigeria. We don't know the price or when it will be available yet. When available, Samsung Galaxy Pocket 2 Price in Nigeria is expected to range between N13,000 to N18,000 and when the first Galaxy Pocket came out, it was N18,900.

How to Fix Bad iOS 8.1.1 Battery Life

How to Fix Bad iOS 8.1.1 Battery Life on iPhone or iPad

With that in mind, we want to try and fix bad iOS 8.1.1 battery life for you. This guide delivers help to get better battery life on the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. This guide will help with iOS 8 battery life, but it assumes that you already upgraded to iOS 8.1.1 for the many fixes and features it brings to the iPhone and iPad.

Find Apps Eating Up Your Battery

The first thing you’ll want to do is start using the battery life usage tool that Apple deployed inside the iOS 8 update back in September. This is an extremely useful feature and it’s going to help you isolate the apps that are causing you the most damage. Once you find an app that uses too much battery life, you can limit your use of it when away from power, stop its background activity or remove it completely from your iPhone or iPad.
iPhone 6 Review - 6
What’s nice about the battery usage tool is that you’ll also see where poor coverage is to blame for bad iOS 8 battery life. When your phone needs to search hard for a signal, it runs the battery down faster, so keep that in mind when you’re in spotty areas. You may need to turn on Airplane mode when you have no real cell signal.
To start using this tool, head to Settings -> General -> Usage -> Battery Usage to see which apps use the most battery life in the last 24 hours and for the last seven days.

Limit Background App Refresh

Your devices can refresh applications in the background so that the data is available right when you open the app. And while this is a great tool for those that live inside the iPhone and iPad, it’s also a great way to deplete the iPhone or iPad battery.
Instead of turning Background app refresh off completely, you should find apps that use it too much and turn it off for them one by one to see if that solves any iOS 8.1.1 battery life problems. That way, you can keep the apps that aren’t using way too much juice.
To do this, go to Settings -> General -> Background App Refresh -> Turn it off for each app that is using too much power.

Stop Using Auto Brightness

Apple’s iPhone and iPad include sensors that change the screen brightness based on the light in your current environment. Often times, the sensors will boost your screen brightness to unnecessary levels, killing off precious battery.
iPhone 6 Plus Review - 3
To shut this down, go to Settings -> Display & Brightness -> Auto-Brightness -> Off and that way you’ll be able to manually adjust the brightness of your screen to help keep battery drain to a minimum. Remember, you can always turn brightness up or down on your own when you need it using the Control Center.

Restart or Reset Your iPhone or iPad

If you notice that the iPhone battery life is very short or that the iPhone is warm, you need to restart it or reset it. Simply hold the power button and slide to turn off for a normal restart. Believe or not, this has fixed battery life problems in the past. It’s a simple fix but one worth trying if things start to get bad on your iPhone or iPad.
iPhone 6 Review - iPhone 6 Plus
You can also reset the iPhone or iPad by holding the home button and the power button for about 10 seconds. This will not remove any of your data, but sometimes this is enough to fix whatever was draining the battery life on the device. It has worked for us in the past and it may wind up working for you should you decide to give it a go.

Reset All Settings

This is where you’ll start to see the iOS 8.1.1 battery life fixes that can handle major problems that are killing the battery life on your iPhone or iPad. If you see the usage and standby numbers listed as the same when you look at iOS 8.1.1 battery usage, this is the step you need to take.
Go to Settings -> General -> Reset -> Reset All Settings and then enter your pass code when prompted. This will take 5-10 minutes to complete and will put all settings back to defaults. This will not remove any data or photos from your iPhone and iPad. Again, this is the first step to take if you’re noticing major battery drain on your device.

Restore the iOS 8.1.1 Update

If nothing else works you should try to install the iOS 8.1.1 update again using restore. You’ll need to do this on your computer with iTunes installed. This will wipe your phone completely. You can try restoring from your backup after the update, but if the problem returns, you will want to do this again without restoring from backup. Here’s how to do this.
  1. Plug in and backup to the computer or to iCloud.
  2. Turn off Find My iPhone – Settings -> iCloud -> Find my iPhone -> Off.
  3. In iTunes Click Restore.
  4. Follow the prompts and the iPhone will reinstall iOS 8. from scratch.
  5. When it completes click Restore from Backup to put your information back on the iPhone or Choose to set up as a new iPhone.
This is not a short process. Expect to spend 20 to 45 minutes for this process, and maybe longer if you restore from backup. It’s going to vary from device to device.

How to Fix PS4 Eject Problems (No Disc Inserted)

Sometimes the PS4 will constantly eject the disk, even when there is no disk in the drive. If you try to insert a disc the PS4 will not accept it, and eventually spit it out and continue trying to eject a disk that isn’t there.
We’ll explain how to fix a PS4 ejecting a disk when there is no disk in, including how you can fix this PS4 problem without opening up your PS4 or sending it back to Sony
Use this trick to fix a show-stopping PS4 problem.
Use this trick to fix a show-stopping PS4 problem.

Fix PS4 Eject Problems No Disk In Drive

If your PS4 keeps trying to eject a disk, here is how you can try to fix the problem without sending it in to Sony for repair. This is not the same issue as unexpected disk ejects that are a problem for some users, but it is still very annoying.

  1. Unplug all the wires from your PS4. This includes HDMI, Ethernet, audio and power.
  2. Now, count to 10 and then press the power button until the PS4 lights upfor just a half a second.
  3. Yes, this works with the power cord unplugged.
  4. After this happens, count to 5 and plug the PS4 back in and get back to gaming.
It doesn’t sound like this will work, but it saved a frustrated call to Sony and got our PS4 back up and running in a few minutes. There is a chance you’ll hear a click and not see a light, but overall this should fix the PS4 constantly ejecting a disk problem.
For users who experience this problem more than once, it is a good idea to check out a full repair from Sony, so you don’t run into this PS4 problem after your warranty runs out and get stuck with a big problem you can’t fix on your own.
There does not appear to be any specific disc that causes this, but you can take steps to avoid this. Make sure you shut down the PS4 properly before unplugging it and remove all disks before you move the PS4 unit. This includes simply lifting it up to move and dust it.

HTC Desire Eye, a phone for selfie lovers

Are you a Selfie freak? If yes, I think you should start making plans to buy this phone. The rear and front cameras are both 13 megapixel with dual LED flashes and built-in Selfie tools for editing. 13MP front camera, it's unbelievable. You can take wonderful pictures from both sides. It also has front facing stereo speakers and with the 3 mics in front, call clarity won't be a problem at all. I won't be wrong to say that this phone was specially created for Selfie lovers. It has a lot of tools and effects just for selfies. Just like the HTC One M8, it also has boom sound speakers. HTC really improved in the aspect of their camera because the M8's back camera is 4MP and the front camera is 5MP but now the HTC desire eye's camera is 13MP both front and back with autofocus and full 1080p video recording and dual LED flash technology.

The 5.2 inch smartphone is water resistant (IPX7). The Desire Eye runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat along with HTC Sense 6 UI. It has the Auto and Voice Selfies that allows you to use voice command to take as much selfies as you want.

The HTC Desire has a 5.2-inch display with a 1920 x 1080p screen resolution, a 2.3Ghz Qualcomm’s quad-core Snapdragon 801 Processor, a 16GB internal storage which is expandable through the MicroSD Slot up to 128GB, 2GB RAM and a 2,400mAh battery.

The Desire Eye is the first waterproof smartphone that Htc has produced and it is also the first phone to have a front facing flash. This Phone is specially created for Selfie lovers, there's no doubt about that.

Price & Availability
